[How I Make My Affirmations | 4.20.13]
This is a good video on how to set goals and affirmations.
I’m all about affirmations.I’m in the process of making my own affirmations as I’m moving to DC in a few months and starting a new journey. But, I’m feeling a little blocked. I’m having trouble setting up a space to create. Any ideas, Tae?
Girl, I dont even know much of what I want for my own life these days.
Are you referring to a mental “space” to create or a physical space to make your visualization board?
When I started doing affirmations, I would sit down and have quiet meditative time with God. Pray about your future. Say what you know you are happy/grateful for. And then from there visualize. More things will start to come up (colors, places, people, resources, things you’ll need) and you can begin to add those to your affirmations.

Ivy league educated Black Woman marries Ivy League educated White man and finds out that he’s racist in the bedroom and doesn’t give a damn about her feelings.
Crazy interesting read. Essence does it again.
We discussed this on twitter this morning. I had a hearty laugh because really, that’s all I could do. She’s all like, “unlike all the BLACK men I dated, he was polite.” Then he drops nigger bitch on her on the wedding night. AND she’s all like, help me but don’t tell me to leave him. And I don’t have the ability to can about it.
My thoughts exactly. Like some of these women think a white man is gonna be they savior. A white man can do you just as bad if not worse.
No endorsement of comments above. But I just needed a moment for Mike’s laid tresses… #RIP
