Maybe next time I’ll be allowed to cross the border (not allowed to at this time, immigration policies) and swing through NYC to hang out a bit. Going on 3 years since I left, it’s getting to be about time to dip a toe back in.
Sad I couldn’t come through cause i needed NEEdED a mental health day but so glad y’all got to be beautiful together

the day was good, it started like 3 hours late but that’s fine, there were i think 15 people there, many who i never interacted with on tumblr. the most famous for me there were bad-dominicana and dumbthingswhitepplsay.i think crankyskirt is famous too, she has to be cuz she was crackn mad jokes.
throughout the day we talked about history to start out, we got into a discussion about Japan and China, how language is important, and the power of knowledge of self. then we talked about veganism and eating healthy, thanks to youngblackvegan.
bad-dominicana brought to light the fact that it’s difficult for poc to afford healthy food cuz of food deserts. there were a lot of jokes criticizing white ppl, those were good. then we went up to the roof of RDACBX to see the mural of FREE MUMIA 2012, where we took mad pics (i’ll put em up soon). then we came back down to talk about art and photography. dumbthingswhitepplsay talked about the game shes workin on, called Arc(?) which depicts poc in a more positive light.afterwards around 8 sunbconsciouscelebrity tooks us to eat at this nice vegan place in Harlem called ‘Juice Bar’, where me, him, Ma’at Sesh (used to be consistencywins) and his boy Omar talked about some good conscious shit. bad-dominicana, dtwps, and crankyskirt went to IHOP cuz they wanted meat lol.
after that we finished the day at Applebee’s over some drinks. overall the day was good, although the group was smaller than i expected, the talks were good, and the energy was up. hope to have another one, but i need help this time organizing it….
